Mesothelioma is very fast becoming a menace to the entire world. The mesothelioma is the cancer of the membrane known as mesothelium that forms a protective lining around the majority of the internal organs of the human body. There are mainly three kinds of mesothelioma that have widely been reported so far. These are the pleural mesothelioma, the pericardial mesothelioma and the peritoneal mesothelioma. The three types differ only because of the location of the mesothelium. The mesothelium covering the lungs and the chest region is called the pleural membrane. The mesothelium covering the heart region is called the pericardial membrane. The mesothelium covering the abdominal region is known as the peritoneal membrane. There are different ways through which the asbestos particle can find their way into the mesothelium. The asbestos particle could enter the mesothelium through inhalation, or through direct ingestion. It is also possible that a person might get affected by asbestos by close interaction with a person who works in an asbestos rich environment.

Whatever the case might be, once a person gets afflicted with this dangerous cancer then it is very difficult to completely cure him of this disease. It is very much important that the use of asbestos should be banned in all the countries. We must actively work together as a society and make sure that this cancer is not able to overwhelm us in any which way.
